I was discovered by a new (to me) reptile: As I sat drawing stumps, a Knight Anole (from Cuba) sat watching me. What a surprise!
Distinguished from its small (3 inch) American cousins by a large head (in proportion to its body) and bright green with yellow stripe, as well as its inquisitive personality, this 15 inch lizard was a decent model compared to the restless Florida anoles and giant but skittish green iguanas.

I also saw an alligator, a gar fish and many other critters today.
Maybe the most interesting was a snail that has taken up residence with the mockingbird (who imitated a bluejay as she flew away when I approached her nest). Was she telling me to leave her baby snail alone?
And while waiting out a sudden rain, our dog Ace posed for portraits:
